This Unexpected Love

Part 2 - The Disappointment

"Thanks for sending me back, it was so out of the way for you.." said Audrey.

"No worries about it, besides, its dangerous for a girl to go home alone at such a timing." replied Ben.

Audrey smiled to herself while walking back home.



The next day, as usual, Audrey met her friends. While chit chatting with her friends at the cafe, Audrey wasn't herself. She kept looking around, hoping to see Ben coming along to join them. She did not dare to ask her friends, afraid that they will tease her. Towards the end of the night, Audrey was disappointed, Ben did not turn up that night, so she went home alone.

A few days later, Audrey decided to send him a message. "Hey.. how have you been?"

She was waiting anxiously for his reply, a few minutes passed, "beep beep".
She quickly took her phone "Oh, hey, I'm fine. Gonna party tonight. My friend's birthday party. What about you?"

"Oh, I see, I'm staying home though, enjoy your night!" replied Audrey.

She was hoping that Ben would reply her again, but, no. Her phone never rang after that message.



Weeks later, Audrey got herself a full time job as a secretary. Her life now, was ,much more a healthy lifestyle. And as usual, she still meet up with her friends at the usual cafe.

That very night, after Audrey knock off, she went to the cafe. To her surprise, Ben was there. They were drinking, chatting and playing board games, but throughout the whole night, Ben was seated with another girl. But Audrey had a clear view of Ben, as he was seated directly opposite her. She couldn't help stealing glances at Ben. He was too cute.

When the night came to an end, Audrey was hoping that Ben would offer to send her home. But he didn't, instead Ben asked his friend to send her home. Audrey was disappointed once again.
